Jazz Workshop, Inc. controls 100% of publishing copyrights of some Charles Mingus compositions and a majority percentage of others (with Mingus’ heirs.) It has licensed the music of Charles Mingus for use in a variety of film, television, and commercial projects ranging from Hollywood blockbusters like "Jerry McGuire" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" and international advertising campaigns for Volkswagon and Dolce & Gabbana, to independent and short films. Jazz Workshop also offers licenses for festival, dance, marching band, and educational uses. Mingus wrote over 300 compositions, which were recorded by him and others, including the Mingus Legacy bands that are managed by Jazz Workshop, Inc.
